My most recent photo project, Pretty Sick, deconstructs the experience of illness—removing it from the confines of hospital rooms and taking it to the garden using simple imagery of flowers, leaves and forests. With this work, I seek to make illness visible; moreover, I strive to make it beautiful.

This project is about giving voice to the sometimes confusing, often inchoate experience of illness and loss.  In my writing and my photography, I crave both narrative coherence and closure. Art, for me, is a meaning making, memory changing machine.
